The Everest Shiraz
Wine
Château Tanunda The Everest Shiraz represents the pinnacle, or 'Everest', of winemaking at Château Tanunda.
The most outstanding grapes are selected from the Hage, Scholz and Semmler Vineyards in the Nuriootpa, Ebenezer and Lyndoch districts of the Barossa Valley.
The fruit is handpicked at optimum ripeness and open fermented. Hand plunging and pump overs several times a day extract aroma, colour and tannins. The juice is racked to oak for malolactic fermentation.
The finest parcels are matured on lees in French and American oak for 24 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the wine is released five years after vintage.
A dense ruby red, Château Tanunda The Everest Shiraz is intense and rich with focused pure fruit flavours and supple tannins.
An outstanding Barossa Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
